A while ago Nefi was goading me into trying out the second book in the "Kingkiller Chronicle", so a few weeks ago I got off my arse and ordered a cheap second-hand copy of "The Wise Man's Fear" off Amazon. Having finished it over the weekend, in the interests of honesty I thought I'd reply to the big ask and say what I thought of the book. There are spoilers, so if you are the sort of person who doesn't want to know big chunks of the plot then don't read the rest of this article

Alright Nefi, You did post a big chunk of thoughts on the book, so I owe you a reciprocal review In respect to people who have not read the book I'll say that there are spoilers below, so if (like me) you prefer your reading experience to come fresh from the tap, you had better not read on.

It would be churlish to ignore Stigg’s request, though there has been very little of note going on in my life recently. I’ll try and spin it out and make it seem exciting...

So. Yes. This isn't going to be a favourable review. And, damnit, I told myself it wasn't going to be that good, because I'd seen the trailers, and I didn't want to feel all let down coming out of the cinema. I just thought that, y'know, some bits of it might be good.

After the awesomeness that Gormash found, I had to contribute to the musical trope. This is likely to be more amusing if you've played Starcraft 2, but it is not necessary to have any awareness whatsoever of Justin Bieber. Thankfully. Very thankfully.

Some time ago, I posted an adaption/dramatisation of a roleplaying game that Tan was running, on a one page per day basis. When the last part of Tan's tale ended, some people expressed an interest in knowing what happened next. After some time working on it, I'm now in a position where there is more of the story to offer, and so I would like to ask this forum...

I had to share.

There are a lot more, and many of them would have damaged my keyboard if I had been drinking tea at the time. I really, really would have liked to post what he did with the George R R Martin cover, but it's probably not SFW in some countries. Anyone who's actually read the books though... Best to go see the other "truthful book covers" at the mightygodking's site.
Although the improved Stephanie Meyer "Twilight" cover at the end of this page may have injured me for life.

Welcome to the Hanes Gwyn, an unfinished story that has been developing on The Black Temple for a while.
Because Stigg and Gormash will probably Rick Roll me if I don't, I'm collating all of the story episodes as PDF's into this blog post, from beginning to end, so they can be picked up handily by the E-book people. You can blame my overdeveloped wish to build suspense for not handing them all out at the beginning.
