So I was owned by game mechanics last night. I'm leveling a rogue with my roommate's druid and we were both at level 49. We planned to do some pvp before hitting 50 just to get a headstart on the honor grind.
Due to some miscalculations I was sitting at 3 experience until level 50 (Not three PERCENT, three EXPERIENCE.) This meant that I couldn't complete any more quests, kill any mobs, or explore any new areas. I figured I'd be fine, as I had already flown back and forth between UC and Hinterlands (where I currently was leveling) so I began the flight back to check the AH.
While in-flight, the BG queue came up (my roommate had queued us) and I accepted. During the 2-3 seconds of lag-time before I entered the BG, i was dismounted and fell towards the cliffs on the eastern edge of Hinterlands, discovering a new area. I dinged 50 just as I was ported into a level 40-49 Arathi Basin match.
It was quite funny confusing everyone in the BG by being out of the level bracket, but I guess it's back to leveling for me.

roflpwned. What sucks the most about this story is that you didn't even have time to grab your lvl 50 abilities so you could really pwn it up in AB.
Hurry up and get to 62 so I can have some motivation to level my rogue and/or druid.
BTW - there is like NO activity on any forums today...im getting bored outta my mind.
Once we get up there you should definitely level w/ us. Triple stealth ganking is ftw :) My roomie went balance (at my suggestion) 2 nights ago and he loves it. His main is a rogue and he's never played a caster before, so it's a nice change of pace.
Yeah the usual forums are a little slow. I've been hitting some of the class forums as well as arenajunkies and messing around on wowhead. Have you been on the priest forums recently? Apparently druids aren't the only ones getting some nerfs in the PTR.
edit#1: I was actually initially considering asking a GM to drop me back to lvl 49 lololol. I can imagine that discussion being quite entertaining.
edit#2: If this Kara happens WTB lots of healer drops. You and Disco are already pretty geared so I could potentially get a shit-load of gear on my druid. Lots of leather + healing mainhand plxkthnx.
@ Non-edits - Yea...I really want to level my rogue up. I think it would be hawt to make a horde Kilamin/McFish combo for some IF ganking.
Yes, see my rant in the "WoW 2.4 is not mkaing me happy" post. They are nerfing EVERYTHING about the priest class, short of reflective shield not breaking CC. Mana drains are useless, Power Infusion is useless. Although not nearly as bad as the druid nerf (seriously....druids are going to be useless now) priests are not gonna be happy having to go from a utility class to a healing class...one that is now nowhere near the capabilities of a paladin. (Shaman got nerfed as well....) I might be leveling up my paladin now...although I doubt I will...melee classes are so..../yawn
@ Edit #1: They won't do it. As a 19 twink with probably 45 people I know that got knocked up to 20 doing something retarded, they won't reset you back.
@Edit #2: I have every single drop out of Kara for cloth healing and DPS short of Rytsynn's Pendant (or something like that). So all our lootz are belong to you.
Do eeet... I'll have a 70 rogue/druid, my roomie will have a druid and you'll have a rogue and/or druid. Sounds like good times to me. Kilamin and Mcfish are something to aspire to ;p
As far as all the nerfs, I guess I just missed the OP era of Resto Druids. Oh well, I think I'll still have fun playing a healer for once.
Indeed. It will be very interesting to see how they cope with this nerf. The only REALLY detrimental change is the 3 second CD on breaking slowing effects. The rest isn't really that bad.
And to be completely honest, I doubt even that will be THAT bad. You will get 1 get out of jail free card, and when you get hamstrung, poisoned, etc the second time, bear form to feral charge a far away player. By the time the other players catch up to you, your 3 seconds are up and you are running off again.
I just HATE my rogue. Hate him hate him hate him. I don't understand how people can say they are so easy to level...I am seriously sooo bad with him.
Yeah, it's much more fun (and efficient) leveling with a partner. It's a breeze leveling rogue/druid together. You ARE joining up with us once we hit the appropriate level; this isn't open to discussion ;)
Sounds good to me. Hell, when we get to 70 we could easily stealth-farm gear too.
Take comfort in the fact that I'm probably WAY worse at playing rogue than you... It's the one class that I absolutely can NOT play even remotely effectively.

Some points of interest:
Arena
- If a queued player has a personal rating higher than their team rating, the matchmaking system will now use the highest personal rating of a queued member of that team for matchmaking purposes, instead of the team rating.
I wonder if this just considers the personal ratings for that specific bracket? If not, it would be a HUGE change in how queues work.
-Queue times for arena matches have been reduced. Players will now be able to enter matches faster than previously.

- Horde players will now start the battle closer to Drek’Thar and Frostwolf Keep.
- There is now a Join as Party option.
