I want it all. Now.

There are days I think I read forums purely for the annoyance they give me. In fact, I don't even need to think it anymore. I know that is the reason. Rarely do you find interesting, errudite conversations filled with gaming gems on gaming forums these days. And by gaming forums, I mean game specific forums like Age of Conan, World of Warcraft and so forth.

So what is today's annoyance?

As usual, read in the George Carlin voice:

People who post asking for the god mode class

Do these idiots realize what they are asking for when they create a post that asks for a class that is strong in PvP, can heal, is desirable in raids and will main tank and can perform equally well solo or in groups? Apart from Death Knights that is. That class does not exist, except in a truely unbalanced game. Each class has a target audience and will fulfill a specific role. Some will cross over some roles, but will be weaker than a class targeted at that. It's the nature of the game. It is balanced at group level, not character level.

But this does highlight a massive "flaw" in the approach these companies take towards their games. This whole "class" rubbish can be avoided if they follow a skill based system, rather than a class based system. Something like say ... Mortal Online.
