I have been naughty and breaking all the rules of my own rants. For starters, here I am discussing the relevant merits of each class as a sneaky method to find out which one I should play. Despite all my earlier rants on the subject. Not that any of you were fooled, I'm sure! And secondly, I have done the dirty and put a few accented characters in my Druid's name ...
But, before you reach for the torches and pitchforks I would like to highlight two points in my favour here. In the first instance, I notice that there are almost no characters in the game without those accents. I'm betting if you tried to register asdfsadfsdfsdfsfafsdwreqr as a name you'd find it's been taken. And probably àsdfsàdfsdfsdfsfàfsdwréqr as well. The second defense is I chose a Mandarin name. And that requires the accents to ensure the Pinyin is correct and that people will not read "Lame brain sick goat with a penchant for long bearded Kung fu" when they should be reading "Rage".
So, for breaking my own rants. I am sorry. That is all.
Comments
:P I was going to comment on the lawlability of you asking for class choices. You should know by now that it comes down to "what do you want to play?"
And Obscuríty doesn't mind about the í's.
I didn't notice a thing, but then I'm dense.
Mandarin for Druids? Gaelic, sure. But ... Mandarin and Druidism don't compute.
I don't speak Gaelic.
So?
I don't know Gaelic. I can't write in languages I don't speak. However, the Shu'Halo should - technically - have Native American names. Not even Gaelic :p

As to the Native American names... only for the Shamans.
Why? Their entire culture is based around the native American cultures. Why would the names for Tauren Druids be any different?
;) have no fear, Tan, i named Pipkin after a cooking pot.
Hehehe. I'm a bit concerned about the "Late medieval and postmedieval pipkins had a hollow handle in order to insert a stick in it for manipulation"
....
there will be no sticking of sticks in hollow areas in/on/around this pipkin
...unless forced by a licensed medical doctor and his decidedly scary nursing staff.
I'm waiting for Stigg to provide his University of Uganda online doctorate. In Zoolithropy. Or somewhatnot.
Their Druidism isn't taken from their old ways, but taught to them by Cenarius? :P
//edit: Meh. This shouldn't have been right at the bottom.
Okay, I'm really not understanding now. Yes, Cenarius taught them. But are you saying somebody should change their name because of their "profession" or belief, irrespective of culture? Should I then have some C++ or SQL Server related name, rather than one that comes from my culture?
Do EET!!!!
If only for the lulz when you have your next performance review.
Hey, if some Yank footballer player can do it, so can you. :P
Ocho-something or other I think he was called.
Uhm. Stigg. Not to be repeated but you know what my first name is. Would it help if I told you my middle initial was C? So I've got that covered already, thank you.
Bad example. Sorry. I'm already named for programming related terms O.o!
*chuckles*
Recheck the names hun.
Stigg might know your name, but I don't.
But even I have my warped moments at times.
Guess that makes me Stigg-like then huh. :P
/sigh. Sorry Valas. Waking up at 4am for an hour of WoW before work does not make my brain any stabler.
No harm, no foul hun. :)
If I had a name as cool as yours I'd have so much damn fun with it.
this thread needs more goat in my opinion :D
I searched for goat and now I'm scarred for life.
