If you haven't tried it yet; you can now go have a look for free.
5.5 months from launch to Free to Play. I'm thinking that is some kind of record! Unfortunately it also means I paid between $36 and ~$56 per month to play that fucking game.
And yes, I'm annoyed. Try it though; the game is fun to run through at least once.

I read it earlier today. I'll probably give it a whirl sometime during the xmas vacation.
I was under the impression you had to buy the game - which is $30, but there are no subscription fees. So it's like a Guild Wars model or something.
I liked it well enough for an MMO, but I don't know if I liked it enough for $30.
Correction, as Raimere said - buy to play. You still need to pickup the box.
And this is why I haven't paid for an MMO (or any other multiplayer) game in quite some time. Too many fail. And fail hard. Though I believe that... whatever that cops and robbers game bit the dust quicker than this one.

APB. It's still around and still running ... and rather a fun game actually. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I didn't have the twitch skills to be useful at it.
I liked APB too, but I had a feeling it would be more fun with friends. We were getting slaughtered by better equipped and sometimes just plain better players. If I was playing with friends we could have made fun of each other - which always makes a game better.
