Don't think I ever actually played Quake. As I remember it there was the Quake camp and the Unreal Tournament camp, and never the two shalt meet (a bit like the Star Wars vs Wing Commander thing). Having said that, I did buy Quake III Arena and enjoyed it as much as the current UT that was out.
Quite odd that just recently I have been thinking over some of my old games and considering whether to install one or two. I have a real deep hankering to play UT2K3 again, especially after having recently had communications with Teddie "Teddabod" Tapawan, one of the best UT2K3 map makers around at that time. I'd just liek to play Deck17 again, Peaks, etc. I have loads on my CD's. I doubt anyone plays it online now but the bot pathing used to be good enough for fun.
I'd also like to replay my Crusader games but dont think they will work, and the original Prince of Persia and Another World would be nice too - both used Rotoscoping which was so amazingly fluid.
The original Quake with a Reaperbot was incredible. I'm one of those in both camps ;) Feed the hunger though; I'm pretty sure they have a remake / higher resolution version of Another World available as well. Didn't Valas or Aerath link it a few months back somewhere?
Edit: Nope, it was me. And it was a "few" months back. (Here)
video 2: omg, lols, the music. keerist how weird is it to look at the date (1992, i think it said) and see how far the evolution of computer gaming has come. from single player, to multi, to online and so forth.
and suddenly i'm missing baldur's gate and warcraft voice clips. "work complete!"
The Quake video inspired me to install UT3 and give it a whirl. I played a few SP games and then went online to see. Amazingly there were loads of servers. Unfortunately all they were populated with was AI so no fun really.
If I'm honest I preferred UT2K3 and UT2K4 so I need to find where they are in the house and install them.

Forgot about this one. I loved this more:
