This must be one of the nicest features I've seen in a MMO. Guilds in Warhammer Online gain experience and ranks, just like players. This happens when guild members complete quests, take part in realm versus realm combat and so forth. At each new rank your guild unlocks newer features like Standards, Heraldry, ability to tax your members, tithes, tactic slots and so forth. You get vaults, guild calendars for events and all the goodies that go with it. Including special trainers and merchants in your Guild Tavern, teleportation scrolls that take you to your guild tavern, etc.
So yes, I joined Underworld Knights on my Chosen last night and what an awesome guild it is. Within about 5 minutes one of the guild members was offering me the remaining two pieces of my Tier 2 set piece. The Mythical (Better than Purples in World of Warcraft equivalent) pieces to complete my Obliterator set. I offered to pay, but was told that it's not how it works in this guild, members help each other even if they're new. I was stunned.

Blech. So, after finally realising that Kalecgos server is complete shite due to an overwhelming lack of guilds and an even more overwhelming lack of guilds that need shadow priests, PLUS the presence of one, maybe a few? people who decided they don't want me in their guild, I have transferred servers.

In a rather uncharacteristic move I decided to join a guild. The group that dragged me through the quest for my Dreadsteed recently lost the entirety of their leadership council to Imperium, the guild that houses the nefarious Impy. Impy, to put things mildly, makes kcma look like a choir boy. He makes more gold than kcma can ever hope to make, but does this by begging, yelling and generally annoying people until they give him gold to shut up. He survives bans in the way that cockroaches survive nuclear attacks. And is almost universally loathed and loved.

What with the recent talk, here, of guilds and what-not - I'd thought it over some and was wondering what, to you lot, are the key components to a "good guild".
Granted, as will happen, whenever a moderate number of people gather there is bound to be some kind of drama (whether it's Mickey Mouse - trivial, or "ginormous" - if that term isn't self-explanatory by now...but i digress). Those moments aside, for they are far too many to number in possibility - what things in a guild make a game more enjoyable to you. (It doesn't have to be WoW related.)

That's like, dexterity, but with sex as the prefix. Or so says Zaboo in episode 3 of the new Youtube Guild drama. Classic! You can begin watching this new series right here with episode one.
